HAMPTON              The Clayton County Softball Tournament composed of eight teams but only two could advance to the championship. In this six hour tournament, the Lovejoy Lady Wildcats came out victorious, with the Forest Park Lady Panthers being the runner up.
Lovejoy started the top of the first strong, scoring five runs in the inning. Once Forest Park took plate, the Lady Wildcats ended the first inning quick with three straight outs, not letting a runner touch first base.

In the second inning, Lovejoy tacked on two more runs, with senior Jazmine Botello stealing home with on of them. Forest Park did not score in the second inning.

The Lady Wildcats would go on another scoring spurt, scoring five more runs in the top of the third. With the timer going off, the umpire said that Forest Park's next possession will be the last of the game.

At the bottom of the third Forest Park scores two runs, coming from senior Eberlin Ramirez and sophomore Buffi Fleming respectively.  But a popfly out by the pitcher ends the game with a score of 12-2.

With this victory, Lovejoy is now back-to-back Clayton County Softball Champions.
