ELLENWOOD An explosive second half from Mundy's Mill allowed them to take control of the game in Mustangs' territory. The Tigers finish the regular season with a 7-3 record and a 5-2 region record.
Morrow started the game scoring on their second play of the drive with a 64-yard touchdown run from running back Andrew Craig. But Mundy's Mill answered back with a rushing touchdown from sophomore Trashaun Burnett, followed by a interception from defensive back Antonio Hardrick, which ended in a score for the Tigers.
The Mustangs dominated the second quarter. They got their ground game going with Craig spearheading the charge. Not only did Morrow dominate the time of possession, they capitalized by scoring a rushing touchdown with quarterback Steven Turner II doing a fake handoff to run it in himself.
At the half, both teams were tied with 14 a piece.
Mundy's Mill made their presence felt offensively and defensively in the third quarter. They stopped Morrow's run while also getting to the quarterback. The Tigers run game became prominent with Burnett getting multiple carries and scoring two rushing touchdowns in the period.
The Tiger's defense standout tall in the fourth while the offense added point on the board. Mundy's Mill capped off the 28-0 half with quarterback Donovan Morton throwing a 38-yard TD pass to senior Kamari Pough.
Both teams have games November 11 with Morrow facing Marist and Mundy's Mill facing St. Pius X.
