JONESBORO     The Lady Knights settled their match in two sets (25-2, 25-8) against the Lady Eagles to improve to 2-0 for the season.
Set 1
Elite Scholars came out the gate with energy, starting the set on an 8-0 run. Drew Charter had several digs to keep rallies alive, but the Lady Knights capitalized on them. With the Lady Eagles scoring their second point, making the score 14-2, Elite Scholars closed out the set with an 11-0 run.
Sophomore Emily Harden of the Lady Knights played a major role in scoring. Harden racked up assists by setting up teammates for multiple kills. Spikes and aces kept the crowd engaged, and they even joined in on the chants with the Lady Knights.

Set 2
Drew Charter improved the beginning of the second set. Multiple digs led to a boost in morale and winning most rallies. They kept the set close and within reach to take the lead.
But the Lady Knights picked up where they left off from the first set. Harden would again set her teammates up for kills, most notably to fellow sophomore Shelby Zanders. Zanders spikes energized both the team and the home crowd.
Sophomore Anayah Dixion put the game away with an ace to keep Elite Scholars undefeated.
Elite Scholars performance was a representation of what they practiced.
"We actually worked on hitting techniques, little bit more digging," said Head Coach Catherine Lawerence. "The girls were ready and I'm really glad they were able to show that on the court."
The Lady Knights is set to face Towers High School later today to after their match with Drew Charter.
