JONESBORO               Jonesboro, Lovejoy (boys), Woodward Academy (girls), and Rockdale County (girls) advance to the finals to determine the seeding for the state playoff next week. The finals will take place February 16 at Jonesboro with Woodward Academy and Rockdale County starting at 3:45pm.

No. 3 Woodward Academy vs No. 6 Forest Park 
Lady Eagles sophomore Kameron Herring led all scores with 30 points in the one-sided victory. Herring was lighting it up on the perimeter by hitting five of the teams 11 triples. Senior Sara Lewis followed with 21 points, 12 of which she scored in the first quarter.

Forest Park suffered from turnovers, many of which came from arrant passes. Along with their turnovers, Woodward beat them on the boards and cashed in on second point opportunities. 

The Lady War Eagles continues to have the Lady Panthers number as they win the game 74-52. Out of their 10 previous meetings, Woodward won nine.

No. 9 Woodward Academy vs Lovejoy
Lovejoy upsets Woodward Academy 52-48 and ends their seven game win streak. 

The Wildcats got off to a strong first half on both ends of the floor with a barrage of three pointers and tough defense. Lovejoy had all the momentum as the War Eagles could not build a rhythm on offense. At the half, Woodward trailed 27-18.

Woodward began to find a groove in the third quarter. Junior Brandon Peters scored 15 of his 18 points in the second half.

From being down as many as nine, Peters cut the deficit to two with a layup with 11 seconds left to play. Up 50-48, junior Demarco Davis (19 points) nails two clutch free throws to seal the victory for Lovejoy.

No. 2 Lovejoy vs No. 7 Rockdale County 
La'Nya Foster 30-point performance gets spoiled as Rockdale County gets the win behind star guard Danielle Carnegie's 28 points.

 The 6A Region 3 girls player of the year had the hot hand by scoring 12 points in the first quarter and finishing the half with 22 of Lovejoy's 34 points.

The Lady Bulldogs began to take off in the third quarter, outscoring the Lady Wildcats 19-14. Carnegie displayed her playmaking ability with crafty passes in the lane to find open teammates.

Lovejoy could not get on a scoring run as Rockdale expanded their lead to double digits. Senior Nylah Williams of the Lady Bulldogs adds 19 points as her team cruise by in the 70-61 victory. 

Rockdale snaps Lovejoy's 11 game win streak while extending theirs to six straight.

No. 2 Jonesboro vs Rockdale County 
 Jonesboro remains perfect at home with the 56-40 win over Rockdale. Not only are they 8-0 at home, the Cardinals have yet to lose to a team in their region.

Senior JaQuez Akins led Jonesboro in scoring with 14 points. Fellow senior and 6A Region 3 boys player of the year Devon Rainey scored 12 points. 

Now on a 12 game win streak, Jonesboro seeks to be regional champions as they play Lovejoy for the third time this season.
