RIVERDALE                  Mundy's Mill's backcourt of Chamiah Walker and Keianna West helps the team win 44-30. Both seniors finished the game scoring 12 points.

West scored eight of her 12 in the first half. She went 4/4 on the free throw line and ended the game a perfect 6/6. Walker played aggressive around the basket and getting to the charity stripe in the first half to get her points.

The Lady Tigers had a great defensive front and hustle throughout the game. They tracked down and fought for every rebound and was rewarded with put-back layups or limiting the Lady Raiders' second chance points. Mundy's Mill led 20-5 at the half.

Riverdale showed a change of pace at the start of the third. They began to pick up more of a rhythm offensive while playing better defense.

"We just told them run what they have been taught to do in practice and keep at it," said Lady Raiders' first year head coach Joey Wilder. " Settle down and continue to get good shots".

Riverdale began drawing fouls and getting to the free throw line to gain traction. Sophomore Fanta Bathily was a key factor for Riverdale. Being a disturbance on the defensive end and getting second chance points helped give the team some momentum. At the end of the third, the Lady Raiders outscored Mundy's Mill 13-11.

In the fourth quarter, Walker came alive. She scored over half of the teams points in the period, doing so from the perimeter and at the line. Despite a small rally from Riverdale, the Lady Tigers intense defense kept them in the lead to win.
