JONESBORO                The Tigers get their most important sack on the night to seal their victory over the Cardinals 14-13.

This game was a tight contest from start to finish.

Jonesboro's defense made a statement in the first quarter, getting three takeaways with one of the being a fumble recovery touchdown.

But the Cardinal's defense was a bit overzealous, racking up offside penalties from Mundy's Mill quarterback Donovan Morton's hard counts. Mundy's Mill, however, had difficulty cashing in due to holding penalties on their side.

Fumbling was the tale of the game for both clubs. As soon as one team loses the ball, the other gave it back.

The Tigers recovered their own loose ball in the second quarter and scored a touchdown the following play with senior Kamari Pough's reception. Pough ties the score at seven a piece.

On the ensuing kickoff, Jonesboro takes the kick return to the end zone for another TD. The extra point would be no good, leaving the score 13-7. Mundy's Mill took a knee to run the clock and end the half.

Jonesboro began to catch on to the Tiger's hard count and stay grounded in the second half.

"We just told them that they got to focus and concentrate a little bit more," said Jonesboro's head coach Tim Floyd. "Knowing that we don't go off what the quarterback saying...we move on balls."

Mundy's Mill received a delay of game and false penalty trying to to get Jonesboro offside.

After going three-and-out, the Tigers kick to the Cardinals. But a muffed punt lets Mundy's Mill recover it at the 31-yard line. This led to a wide open TD for Pough, giving the Tigers their first lead of the game.

With the ball on the Tiger's 25, Jonesboro goes for it on 4th down but comes up short.

A holding penalty on Mundy's Mill brings 1st and 21 with 1:08 left to play. Jonesboro stopped their run game and called their timeouts to get the ball with four seconds left.

On the last play of the drive, middle linebacker Chris Joseph of Mundy's Mill got the game-winning play with the sack to give the team their fifth straight win.
