JONESBORO               Forest Park remains undefeated on the road as they take the 49-24 victory over Jonesboro. They came into the game 2nd in their region and 3-0 against regional opponents.

Both teams got off to a slow start in the first quarter, with neither scoring in the first three minutes. It wasn't until Lady Panthers point guard Jayda Brown scored the first points with a step-back jumper. Forest Park led 10-0 at the end of the quarter.

The Lady Panthers got out to a better second quarter, scoring 18 in the period. The three ball started to fall as they held Jonesboro's offense at bay. Forest Park moved at a much better tempo than they did in the first.

"I think we was trying to get the rhythm of the game," said Forest Park Head Coach Steven Cole. "First quarter you kind of feel it out and second quarter you pick up your intensity."

With the offense starting to pick up steam, Forest Park defense followed, with blocks and active hands leading to fast break opportunities. Already leading 28-5 at half, Forest Park closed out the game on a 21-19 run.

Brown finished with a game high 13 points. Despite a slow start in the beginning, she became the leader that always uplift her teammates.

"They'll get down if they miss a shot, so I make sure to keep motivating them and keep them going," said Brown.

This tough Forest Park team features the smallest line up in Clayton County with only a six players. But this small lineup is proving to be the key success in the Lady Panthers winning streak.

"I just think it's team camaraderie. The girls like each other, we did our conditioning in the off-season, and I guess it's paying off for us with this small number of players." said Coach Cole

Forest Park will travel the road again to face the Lady Wildcats December 13.
