HAMPTON               Without shooting guards Demarco Davis and Henry Dowdell, the Wildcats defends their homecourt against Forest Park to improve to 4-4 on the season.

The Panthers led early on in the game, forcing turnovers and scoring in transition to lead 17-13 at the end of the first.

Lovejoy opened the second on a 8-2 run to capture the lead. But after Lovejoy's hot start, both team cooled down and went into halftime 26-23 with the Wildcats leading.

The third quarter was an even matchup with the clubs each scoring 19. Wildcats junior Jake Bell (17 points) scored 11 in the period with drives to the basket. His production was vital to this Lovejoy team.

"He's really smart on the floor...he gave us a boost," said Lovejoy head coach Willie Reese. "Tonight we needed that."

Panthers senior Kyron Thorton (17 points) scored 10 in the third with shooting from outside. Forest Park still trailed by three entering the final period.

The Wildcats scored 12 unanswered points to begin the fourth quarter. This burst in scoring put the game away as they beat their regional rivals.

Lovejoy's next opponent is against Banneker December 16. They will be back at 100% as they prepare for their next game with Davis and Dowdell being available for play.

"We got to do the best we can to simulate practice as a game," said Coach Reese. " With everybody back now, practices will be pretty intense.
